Thank you so much for the information on the Cassidy children. I believe Connolly Cassidy was John's father.

Could you please tell me how you accessed the Larne Times to see the death notice for John Campbell?

Thanks

Thank you so much for the additional info on Mary Ann Cassidy's death and also the death of her grandson John C. Campbell.  How did you get into the Larne Times to view that obituary?  I tried but couldn't seem to find it.

Thank you again, I am so excited to find this information.  I love this rootschat!

First of all thank you to Annie & Sarah for helping me get started on rootschat!

Annie you asked me why I think that Mary Ann Cassidy was William Carr's(Kerr) sister.  I have a letter from Mary Anne's son which was written inn 1895 to the wife of William, Eliza, stating that his mother, lived at 12 Tern St. Ballymacassett and that she was 70 yrs. old.  He also stated in this letter that William has 2 sisters, his mother and Jennie and one brother Hugh.

My great grandfather, William Carr or Kerr was born in Ireland in 1826 according to his death certificate which was issued in Buffalo, NY.  I believe that he was born in Belfast and that he has a sister by the name of Mary Ann Cassidy.  I believe he may have been a stray in England in 1841. He became a citizen of US in 1868.  He was a ropemaker in the US.  I cannot find any info as to birth or marriage certificate. His sister lived at 12 Tern St., Victoria Down according to the 1901 Census.

I don't know Mr. Cassidy's name.  This is my first time on this site.  How would I move my post to the Ireland Down board?
