					 For information if it helps anyone; the update to this was that i did find Joseph and Betty Carter in the Dorset Wills; ironically, i already had copies of some Wills stored in my archives ready to view, but had not viewed them. Within 2 hours of looking through them, i found Joseph, his brother, his sisters a nd a nephew. I have since now moved the line back another two generations to 1698 and am heading towards the next brick wall at 1620.
