I'm hoping someone can help me with this family confusion.

William James Ridley
Dob 31/1/1930
Dod 28/10/2003
His birth certificate has natural father
father : George William Ridley
Mother : Lily May Le Page married to Clifford Falla
Can anyone shed any light on this - why was lily having children with a man she was not married to she went on to have 3 children with George William Ridley (William, Beryl, Henry)
It looks like she had a daughter with Clifford Falla Leona lily Falla they married 8th November 1914 Leona was born 25th nov 1914 3 weeks later
If anyone has any ideas on this very interesting family please let me know
