I see what you mean PtE, I hadn`t noticed that when I checked the Hastingleigh/ Wye records before. That probably scuppers the Petworth theory then ! Cheers, Tel.

Hi Bearkat, thanks for your input ( again ) . I had seen the Thomasin on the Hastingleigh site previously but for some reason had discounted him ( I really need to write my reasonings down ! ) When I move forward to Thomas Great x4 Grandad his parents are Thomas and Susanna so that`s why I think I have the correct father. The only reason I can remember for the Petworth Thomas is that he is the only one I can find on any search with the correct birth date. The burial record for Thomas that I got from Find My Past doesn`t mention birth place, can I ask where you found it please ? Thanks again, Tel.

Thanks for the replies, I probably didn`t explain properly what I`m searching for ! I have records of the Marriage of Thomas Terry and Susanna Coveney at Aldington on 21/07/1734 and I know they were both residing in Wye at the time. I also know about his burial at Wye on 18/12/1795. I can also trace his descendants all though the years up to the present day but what I`m stuck on is finding out where he was born. I suspect he was born in Petworth W. Sussex but can`t find any way of proving it ! There is a record of a Thomas Terry baptised on 24/ 06/ 1707 at Petworth but is he the right one ? Once again, thanks for the replies and any further help would be very much appreciated.

I have a Thomas Terry ( Great x 5 Grandfather ) Born 1707, Married to Susanna Coveney at Aldington 21/08/1734 and buried at Wye 18/12/1795. I think he may have been born at Petworth W. Sussex on 24/06/1707 but can`t prove a link. Any help gratefully received.

Google Squash Case Study One for a description of the picture I posted previously they seem to think it`s Lesly Street.
