I'm Michael. My father is Edward, he is 74.  I didn't know my great grandparents or any other Allan's. Have you got an email address Angus? Have you traced the family back any further? Were our ancestors part of the battle of culloden?

Hi. That's no problem at all. I just need to get them off my PC. Do you want me to email them to you?  Also, Betty's brother was missing in action in WW2. He was a pilot and also named John Allan or 'Jack'. I have a couple of pics of him too. So you are my Dad's second cousin. Do you still live in Scotland?

Thx. So where does the line go from there? The Allan side I mean. I know they lived in Elgin and I have seen some od the old photos of the thatched roof house they lived in, but who were they're ancestors and where were they from. My great grand mother was a Reid and her mother was a McKenzie but what about the Allans. Were they part of the McDonald of Clanranald clan etc?

So, you and my dad would be second cousins once removed? Betty had 5 children but only 4 survived. Tony, Edward, Bill and Lee. My uncle Tony resembled is grand father John. I'm keen to learn more about the history of the Allan family if you have more. I'm planning on visiting Scotland in a couple of years.

I am Betty's Grandson. Her parents or my great grandparents did migrate to Australia from Elgin, Scotland.
