From my Bassett records at www.bassettbranches.org, I see I do have the William Henry Bassett documented. He was one of the three that married within 10 years of your Harriet Adelaide Bassett.

+   231B32. William Henry Bassett - christened 6 Dec 1830 in Saint Martin
in The Fields, Westminster, London, England, married Mary Ann
Maggs on 21 Apr 1849 in Saint Martin in The Fields, Westminster,
              London, England.

I see there are three other Bassett marriages in Saint Martin in the Fields. I wonder if it would be beneficial to check the Susannah Bassett who married James Stephens 1 Sep 1857 to see if she might be related?

I have a marriage for William Bassett to Ann Harrison in Hinckley in 1789, but nothing for Thomas. I have 8 children listed for Thomas, only 3 of whom I have traded, Richard Bassett, Thomas Bassett and John Bassett.

It is interesting to see that although her marriage listed David Bassett as the father, the first three males born to her and William were William Gagen, Richard Gagen and George Gagen.

I will soon be adding your line to my Bassett website (www.bassettbranches.org) as new family #258B. What I have so far begins with the 1841 census where Charles Bassett, 55, is listed with son David, 20, and what appears to be his mother Ann, 90.

1851 census shows David with wife Ann, son William and father Charles.  They are living at Ruscombe, Stroud 1841 through 1871.

1881 census show Elizabeth with children Edward and Florence and sister Emily P. Summers in Whiteshill.

I see from the 1851 census that James Bassett, father of Arthur and William was born in Leicestershire.  Do you have more on this family that you can share?
