I couldn't find anything which would be helpful either ...
For sure there must be old images of Richmond Hill and the Methodist Churches ... not many (hardly any) on Leodis ...

Hi Nick,
You won't find them on ancestry - they only have West Riding Registers and they are not complete.
They are not online anywhere to my knowledge - York Archives hold the original collection.

You might want to look at this Trades Directory on the Historical Directories website.

Well there was a lot of bulwarks going down between 1939 and 1945 so it's not surprising that a bigamy crime wouldn't be reported ... unless, as you say, it was big news.

Norah was a practising Roman Catholic (or at least she was when she married Gordon at St. Anne's RC Cathedral in 1945). The consecrated ground was reserved for C of E burials.
