Carmarthenshire / Re: School photographs: Llanfynydd, Trapp and Talley

There are many photographs online at the National Archives, Aberystwyth, and called "People of Wales" just key in 'Talley'.  In particular are school photographs but unfortunately only some of the people are named as I'm sure my great grandparents, grandparents and other relatives are there but I am unable to identify them.

You may have better luck!

Sorry I've taken a while to reply.  I do not have a copy of Louisa's marriage certificate but the records from Free BMD Marriage Index 1837-1915 give the names of Louisa's husband, William Yates, and two other witnesses: Isaac Noyce and Elizabeth Pearce.  Reg. Dist. Alderbury, Wilts. Vol No. 5a page No. 259.  My cousin has some original documents and states that both Louisa and William had the same surname but may not have been spelt the same way!  Louisa's father's name has not come up on any documents so far.

I had a good look at the family search site and also the new 1941 Census on line for Winterslow, Wiltshire which confirms Mary Yeats as 1wk old and Isaac 25 Agricultural Laborer with his wife, Sarah 20 and Susan (which I presume is short for Susanna) 1 year.  H0107/1164 Book 17 Folio 17 p.18.
I also came across a very detailed account of the Annetts family which Mary Yeats married into and I'm glad I did, because I can see how confusing names can become as there seems to be a Mary Annetts and a Mary Ann Annetts born in that family too!
Do you know if there is any way I can find out the father of Louisa Yeats? :-\

It looks as though you are right with the first John Jones thank you so much.  I read the 1901 wrong it should have been the 1911 Census that Mary was listed as a widow and so it all fits and yes you are right it is the same family and they had moved to Llanegwad.

That would certainly make sense.  The age difference is a lot for sisters.  Thanks for the family Search reference too I will look into it.

Carmarthenshire / ABERGWILY, John Jones b. 1862

I am having difficulty trying to discover more on John JONES b.1862 in Abergwily, Carmarthenshire.
He married in 1889 to Mary LEWIS b.1867 in Llanfyndde, Carmarthenshire.  He was sighted in the 1871 and 1891 Census but had died before 1901 as Mary is listed as a widow.  His occupation was a farmer.  They had 7 children: David, Dinah, William, Elizabeth, Magdalen, Jane and Rachel.  I realise it is a big ask with the above surnames  ;)

I am trying to find more information on Louisa Yates b.1864 Winterslow, Census 1871 and stated as "visitor "with Richard and Mary Annetts.  I would really like to know who her parents were.  Louisa married and had about six sons, whom I believe all served in WW1.
