Hi. I have the Pro tool and last time was able to have the matches and what relationship they are to me and to each other, but cannot seem to do it since subscribing this month.
The 1st cousin relationship is a definite / confirmed between LB and EB. LB is my closest paternal match.
I am not sure how to use DNA painter. Have tried, but could not figure out what it was telling me.
Thank you so much

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / DNA help
« on: Monday 17 February 25 07:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I have posted previously, but have updated information and ask for help.
My brick wall has been going on for years, but recently a new match came up and sort of cemented the idea of defo 3 possibly sharing same Grandfather. I think i am down to one of 3 brothers, but now i am completely stuck again. Below are cM results, and if i am correct they would be half first cousins ( my grandfather, born illegitimate, would be their Father's brother). Grandmother known 100% but nothing to do with the Grandfather's family.
Can you browse these results and advise me of what path i should take next?
Much appreciated.
LB 342 cM 5% Definite 1st Cousin of EB and suggesting half first cousins of me
EB 308 cM 4% Definite 1st Cousin of LB and possible Father of HZ
RH 285cM 4%
HZ 207cM 3% Possible child of LB (almost 100% sure of this fact)
RW 133cM

In the B family, according to records, there is the possibility of one of them being my Grandfather.
Thank you A

Thank you. Does anyone have access to Grimsby or Bradford archives and could assist?

Having hit a brick wall, I reach out for any ideas where I go next.
Are there Paternity / Bastardly claim files in the Manchester area 1932-1934?
I live abroad, but have flown over to Manchester for 1 week and Bradford 1 week, to research Library, museums etc.
Although i found several items, the one i was unable to find was the claim files.
The father was named on the Unmarried Mother Home form, but not on the Birth Certificate.
His address was also stated. I found him on a Electoral register, for this address 1932, but no other year or Census.
DNA all points to the individuals living at this address and their relatives, but they have a different surname from the named father (i believe it may be an alias).
The Paternity / Bastardly file may hold the key.
Although the father’s address is Cheetham Hill, Manchester, the mother was from Grimsby and my grandfather was born in Bradford, so unsure where this particular ‘case’ would be registered.

Hi. Thank you for the reply.
With the Leeds method, i used only potential Paternal grandparents.
Can I ask. My highest DNA is potentially a grandson or son of the family I have identified. He shares 343 Cm with me.
