I'm searching for living relatives in Ireland.

My grandmother was a Cashman, I have spent 3 years tracking her family into Ireland. I have only been able to get the family back to 1802 with the birth of John Cashman my 4th Great Grandfather.
John was born in Lyradane sometime in 1802, I haven't been able to find his baptismal. John's wife was a women named Margaret, I haven't been able to find her maiden name and all I know is they were married before 1830 when my 3rd Great Grandpa was born. All I have been able to find is that Margaret came from Grenagh parish as well and was born abt. 1807.

John and Margaret came to the U.S in 1848. They were on the ship Forest Monarch, listed as Steerage. They arrived in NYC on Aug. 5 1848, on the ship log it was noted that they were Famine Immigrants.  John was a Carpenter. John is on the 1870 & 1880 U.S Census living with his son George in NYC he was listed as a Widower on both Census's. John died sometime between 1880 and 1900.

These are the Cashman's on the ship log, listed as relatives of John Cashman.

1.  Car. Cashman 22
2. Elizabeth Cashman 22
3. Geo. Cashman 23
4. George Cashman 7

Hi,

I know this thread is several years old but i'm hoping you will see this. I was wondering who the parents of James and the other two siblings are? The only reason I ask is that my grandmother was a Cashman and her family came from Grenagh Parish in County Cork. I have been searching the Cashman side of my family and have hit a major roadblock. I have gotten my Cashman side back to 1802 with John Cashman (my 4th great grandfather), his wife was Margaret (I don't have her last name). John shows up on the Tithe Applotment Books in Lyradane in 1834.  John, his wife and their children left Ireland in 1848 and started a life in NYC. I'm trying to find any more Cashman's that are related to my Cashman's in hopes of finding living relatives in Ireland.
