Family History Beginners Board / Re: Leonard family from Killeshandra, Co Cavan

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. I do have some of this which I think is my great grandmother Ellen Collins married to a James Gilmore. I have received my grandmother Mary's birth/baptism record by writing to the church in Ballyconnell. I can't find any information regarding my great grandfather Thomas Leonard. I was matched with a cousin on Ancestry whose grandfather Peter Leonard was Thomas's  nephew. Apparently her great grandfather was Peter Leonard also, he had a brother Thomas. Their parents surnames were Leonard and Rafferty. If you/anyone could find any information I would be grateful. Kind regards

Hi, I wondered if anyone can help please? I am looking for a birth record/information for Thomas Leonard whose Parents were Leonard and Rafferty. Don't know their first names. Thomas married or had children with Ellen Collins . First child was my Grandmother Mary Leonard born 29 March 1903 in Ballyconnell. I know Thomas had a brother Peter born 1908. Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Brenda

Hi M. Not sure if I sent  you a pm properly. Thank you for information. I look very much like if you would contact the tree owner. Would it be possible to find a birth record for John?

Hi Dougal and Lisa

I cannot believe I got a response, I am so excited. My Mum was talking about Bridget just a few weeks ago and was telling me her husband told my Grandmther she was heartbroken as she missed my Grandmother so much. My Grandmother was heartbroken when she died.

I have just gotten up for work, so I will contact you when I get home.. My Mum will be so excited.

I f you could send me your email address privately that would be great.

Look forward to speaking with you both soon.

I wondered if you might find information on my Grandmother Mary Riani formerly Leonard,  whom I was told was born in 29 March 1903. I have just found her passport which states she was born 29 May 1903 in Ballyconnell?

Many thanks

Yes, that's her. My Mother had no knowledge of this, until I informed her. She still seems to think her Grandfather
Italiano/Carlo/Charles is Mary's father, although we do not know for sure. In the 1911 census she is listed as Maria Riani and indeed married under Riani/Reani as it is spelt on her marriage record. I have attached a page of my g grandfather's identity book which states Rosina  aquired Italian citizenship when she married on 20 aug 1900. Yet I cannot find a record for this.
