Does anyone have access to https://www.thegenealogist.co.uk? This site contains railway records are taken from Railway Company Staff magazines which may have information concerning Hoghton Station and John Hammond.

I've found some data on the Craven family but nothing on Richard Finch other than a birth registration in 1880.

I would be very interested to learn more about the families of Craven & Finch who resided at Westwood House, Clayton-Le-Woods and in particular any photographs of the property which was demolished in the early 1970's.

Seeking census data on Westwood House, Preston Road, Clayton Green, Chorley. The last known occupants surname was Finch up until the house was demolished in the early 1970's. I'm aware that previous occupants were Carrington.

Thanks Carole. He's proving to be tricky. Looking now at obituary notices for both John & Minnie in Liverpool Echo etc.

Any access on Ancestry to Railway Staff Records of "British Railways London Midland Region" for the period 1950 onwards.

Thanks Carole. The house that went with the position of Station Master for Hoghton was removed in approx. 1956. John L Hammond's predecessor; 1956 - 1958, had lodgings in Mill Hill, Blackburn. It could be possible that JH took the same house on(?).

Well after spending much of yesterday looking for John Hammond and his wife Minnie Bake I've hit an impasse. Are the electoral roles for Blackburn and Preston the next step (i don't have access)?
