Hello Elaine, thanks for your kind words. That's the only one I've done in churchyard. I was just passing the church, saw the stocks outside and then wandered in. I'm sure I'll be visiting again to model the stocks, and I'll keep an eye for other graves.

I can't help any further, sorry Elaine. My expertise / knowledge disappears after the 3D model is made. Hope you find the answers you're after.

That's the one  :)  If the inscription has been worked / added to a few times, that might account for the condition of the stone and delamination. Limestone looks great, but is susceptible to fracturing, erosion

It looks to be a different inscription. The dates on this appear to be 1790 and 1800, there's also clear mention of pudsey.

Thanks Brian. Glad you were able to read the inscription....I've used a similar method with snow when trying to work out motifs on prehistoric rock art :)

Thanks for the warm welcome Carol. I noticed Elaine hadn't been on in a while, hopefully she'll have email notifications turned on  :)

Elaine, whilst researching a 3D model I created the other day, I happened on this thread. This is the "Charles Stead Booth" memorial in St James Church yard. I've also created another 3D model of the monument lid, which makes some of the inscription easier to read. Unfortunately, there's been some delamination and not all the inscription can be read though. I can make out the dates 1790 and 1800, the names William and Mary.
