Hi Everyone

Just for your interest , Edwin Sandys ( Archbishop of York) under Queen Elizabeth 1st had many children. There are branches of this lineage and consequently a number of Edwins.
A couple of good pubs in the UK worth mentioning, The Sandys Arms at Wickhamford and the Crown and Sandys at Ombersley. I believe they are both connected in one way or another to the original Edwin around 1626.

I am 99% sure Basil is from the Roscommon area.
He could be a son of Alexander Reynolds Sandys  or a cousin of Edward who is Alexanders eldest son. Edward was in London in 1842 and I suspect Basil was as well.

Regards William

Hi,

I can confirm Edward Sandys ( Son of Alexander & Margaret Sandys of county Roscommon ) was in London in the early 1840s and I believe remained in London.

He died on the 28th of November 1874 at the age of 56 and is Interred at Victoria Park Cemetery ( unsure of locality but undertaker was W.Hodges , 85 Grange Road ).

Brother of Julia Maria Sandys ( Roscommon - Married Dockery ).

Would be interested in further information as well.

William
