Armagh / Re: Newry Workhouse, County Armagh records.
« on: Monday 03 June 24 19:14 BST (UK) »Unfortunately the occupation in 1901 census (labourer) doesn't rule out the death in 1907 (gardener). It might just be that the John Graham who died in 1907 was admitted to the hospital section and not the workhouse itself. He had (according to death registration) been suffering from the cause of death (cerebral apoplexy- likely a stroke) for 14 days so perhaps only there a short while. Could he have gone back to Ireland to stay with relatives?
My 2 x great grandfather John Graham had 10 children whilst living in Scotland and England between 1867 & 1901. All the children are accounted for and no records to state any of them moved to Ireland. His parents deaths have not been traced so far and are thought to have been from County Armagh / Down. My DNA matches to the Graham side of the family appear to be all based around Armagh / Down area's mid 1800's.
