Hi Kathy & Burklegs,

My maiden name is Ferguson (Greenock), I've just started researching our family tree and found out we originally came from Wigtownshire, just early days but my Dad's grandfather was John Ferguson Sr born 1842.

Joined Root chats today and looking forward to finding out more and connecting with others.

My Dad's grandfather was John Ferguson Sr, born in Wigtownshire 1842. He had a son called John. I would be interested in a copy of the letter please if you think it's the same family.
