The Williamson Arms in Church Street was named after Monkwearmouth's most famous family, as Sir Hedworth Williamson at one time owned virtually all the land between the River Wear and Whitburn. The pub consisted of a Long Bar, Tap Room, Front & Back Parlours, and a quoit ground at the back.
The pub closed in 1933.

Hi, I'm looking at the 1871 census which shows that an Isabella Newleand is running this pub.
I'm interested because it also shows that her niece Isabella Cook is staying or living there with her, who may be my 2cnd great aunt.  Can you give me or point me in the right directions for any details on Isabella Newleand, eg, what her husband's name was or what her unmarried name was so that I can try and track if Isabella Cook is a relative?
