Metrical records for Tarnopol are stored in Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw (Polish: Archiwum Główne Akt Dawnych w Warszawie). Could you share more specific information on your ancestor, such as his religion, he believed in?

Hi,
Brzeżany/Berezhany is a city of regional significance located in the Ternopil Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Berezhanskyi Raion (district), and lies about 100 km from Lviv and 50 km from the oblast capital, Ternopil. In the 14th century it became a part of Poland and became the property of a noble family from Buchach.
The Roman Catholic parish was on the spot. The metrical records are stored in Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw (Polish: Archiwum Główne Akt Dawnych w Warszawie, AGAD). I do there the research very often.
