Thank you Trish1120. It does seem quite likely that if the first Henry died that they would name another child Henry, as they named a second child Sarah. The 1819 and 1820 deaths link nicely to this Henry as they share the same residence.

It does seem a little odd though that from 1789 to 1799 they had 5 children, then none apparently for 7 years until 1806. If the second Henry is not theirs, the lack of further children after 1799 could be explained by their deaths. I noticed the same burial ground has another William that died in 1802 and an Ann that died in 1804, which would fit this idea.

However, I  have now found a death for James Norman in 1818, aged 24, with the Gracious Court residence. Although William and Ann's son James should have been at least 25 then, it seems most likely that he is the same person, thus confirming the 1819 and 1820 deaths belong to the right couple.

Thank you Andy J2022, so the William and Ann that married in 1788 could be the couple I am looking for.

Somerset Completed Lookup Requests / St Michael's, Bath 1700s look up request
« on: Friday 11 July 25 19:06 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find information on William Norman and his wife, Ann, that baptised a daughter Sarah on 7 May 1797 at St Michael's, Bath, Somerset.

I know that a William Norman married Ann Roseller or Rosetter on 14 January 1788, also at St Michael's. However, they baptised a daughter, Sarah, on 23 Aug 1789. Could this daughter have died in infancy and could they be the parents of the daughter named Sarah baptised in 1797?

Looking up the parish records may provide useful information. For example, did both baptisms show the father had the same occupation? Was a Sarah Norman buried between 1789 and 1796? Are there any births or deaths that might fit William or Ann? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you for so much information.

It does look very possible that William's father is Edward's brother John. I have been unable to find any information on John yet.

I thought that the Allnatt family all resided around North Stoke and Wallingford but the 1734 marriage of Edward Allnatt to Sarah Pearcy says Edward is from Bradly. Whereabouts is Bradly?

Thank you for all your replies.

I am looking for William's parents.

There is a suggestion (maybe from his 1784 Will?) that William had two brothers, Edward and John Allnatt.

John's burial aged 79 in 1814 in North Stoke (Wallingford) says that he had a father, Edward, that died in 1758. If John is really William's brother, then Edward (? - 1758) is William's father too. It would not be surprising either that their brother was named Edward, although I can't find any information on him.

Edward Allnatt's Will, 11 Oct 1758, might confirm his wife and children's names. If it does not show that William is Edward's son, then another suggestion (geneanet) is that Richard Allnatt could be William's father.

It is also suggested that Sarah Pearcy/Piercy (born 1700, Nettlebed, Oxfordshire) is William's mother, so there may be a marriage in Nettlebed between Sarah and either Edward or Richard Allnatt.

What I know:
William Allnatt/Allnutt and his wife, Elizabeth Smith, lived in North Stoke, Oxfordshire. They had two daughters, Martha and Elizabeth. William was buried in 1784, and Mary in 1795, in St Mary's, North Stoke.

What I would like to find:
William's baptism about 1735, and Elizabeth's about 1736.
Their marriage, possibly around 1762.
Martha and Elizabeth's baptisms (about 1763), and any other children.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Any Ship Broker records?
« on: Sunday 02 February 25 01:01 GMT (UK)  »
In 1880, William Forty Stephens was a Ship Broker, living in Pimlico.

Are there any records available for Ship Brokers which would help to provide more information about him?

The only extra details I have found for the Mary baptised in Chelmsford are that her parents were John and Mary Bradley. Can anyone see this baptism on 30 October 1801 and let me know her father's occupation please?

Thank you for the marriage link Willsy.

Thank you for your suggestion hanes teulu. I wondered about that possibility. Does the baptism say anything about the parents?
