Hi Gig. I was just reading your post back to Mary about the book Tipperary Green to Victoria Gold and in it you said some of the facts were incorrect. If they are I am sure the author Elizabeth McDonald would love to hear from you so she could get the facts straight if you haven't already done that. Brian

Hi Mary. Your story is very interesting and yes we could be related because from memory Michael did have a brother who had a plot next to him. The book 'Tipperary Green to Victoria Gold' is still available at: au.blurb.com/b/8345087. I am sure that book could help you with some information. Let me know how you get on. Regards Brian

Hi Gig Ryan. It has been a couple of years since I put this post up and I have learnt a lot since then through research, talking with people and a trip to Tipperary. I am a great, great grandson of Michael and Honora Ryan. If you are interested in this Ryan family history, there has been a book written about them and their descendants called Tipperary Green to Victoria Gold, Ryans of Dookie, by Elizabeth McDonald. You can purchase it on line at: au.blurb.com/b/8345087-tipperary-green-to-victoria-gold. Brian Ryan

Family History Beginners Board / Michael and Honoria Ryan of Latteragh

Hi,
I am trying to trace my Ryan ancestry. Michael Ryan, born 1798 in Latteragh, his parents were Joannis and Margaritae Ryan, he married Honoria Kennedy (b. abt 1800) in abt 1818. They had 8 children. Michael, b.1824, Jermiah, b.1827, Martin, b.1830, John, b.1832, Bridget(Mary), b.1836, Patrick, b.1839, Ann, b.1841, Margaret, b.1842. They were all born in the Latteragh area. The 8 children arrived in Melbourne, Australia, in January 1854 but their parent Michael and Honoria were not with them. I am trying to find out what happened to their parents, why they didn't go with them to Australia. Any help would be very much appreciated.
