Wowo hello Deeni and Norah,

Pleased to see you two got together under same family of Plunketts!!!

I am related to the Plunketts by marriage of Oliver Plunkett and Emma Warren Browne's two children;
Claud Ralph Allan Plunkett and Mabel Evelyn Purcell Plunketts
Claud married my 2nd cousin once removed Kathleen Broadbent and Claud's older sister Mabel married Kathleen Broadbent's older brother Wilfred. So two siblings married two siblings!
The Plunketts and The Broadbents were well known rich families in Dublin.

~I would love to have more info on Oliver's siblings. I have info on Claud and Mabel's families of their own if you are interested

I am wondering...

Oliver was a Roman Catholic and married a protestant Emma Brown, would Oliver convert to protestant or he still be roman catholic? Because I found this baptism record of a child Mary Evelyn Purcell Plunkett but Mary was baptised in Church of Ireland? on her record, Oliver's occupation was Malster.  Mary was one of  Oliver and Emma's children.

Thanks so much Shane.

I just found out Oliver's one of brothers. John Randal Plunkett but known as Randal, he married an english lady called Eliza Anne Partington in England. John took over the Maltings business from his late father Randal. When John Randell died, his wife Eliz took over and went into partnership with John Boydell. After her death, she left a will, left the business to John boydell and left money to her children and oddly, she named one of her sons to make sure the business money being paid out to him annually as long as he doesnt get involved by taking the control of the business!

Sadly cant find any connection to Plunketts in irishgenealogy site.

There's a Randall Plunkett and his wife Eliza D'Arcy,  they were possibly being Oliver's parents.

Hi everyone,

I am looking for the Plunkett brothers' names.
I am told Oliver Warren Plunkett had 4 older brothers and 2 older sisters and 1 younger sister. I am trying to find their names.

The Plunkett brothers were well known Malters that supplied to Guiness & Co Brewery in Dublin for 50 years or so. I found Plunketts worked or lived on Robert Street, Islandbridge and Portland Street but never showed their names. It allways have said Plunkett Bros or John Plunkett & Co.

Oliver Warren Plunkett used to worked with his father and brothers at Bellevue Maltings but Oliver got disowned and got him off his father's will because Oliver married Emma Brown as she was an protestant as whole Plunketts were Roman Catholics.

Would appreicate any ideas how to find plunkett brothers full names. Its believed one of them was called Randall Plunkett and his wife Eliza as I found Arthur Guiness's advertising Plunkett Bros and thanking Randall's wife Eliza for the connection between those both companies for 50 years. this was published in 1819. Randal was already dead by then.

Hi Robert,

That's really fantastic!! thanks so much for the picture of JWG!! Its really amazing!!! It is really lovely to see the names to go with face!

Right, I better put ALL of the info I have got on the Glover family.

John William and his wife Catherine nee Wade.
Their children in the order (so far as I know)

Ferdinand Glover (B1836 Dublin. died in the Hall in Dublin on 22 April 1859)

Elizabeth Glover (B1840 Dublin, died in New York, 30 Dec 1910) she was married to Daniel O'Sullivan and had 6 children (all children born in Missouri, USA and moved to New York, USA) Two of their daughters were opera or choir singers.

Mary Glover (birthyear unknown in Dublin) married James Mackay. had two sons Jimmy and now you have given another son's name Michael. Mary's husband James disappeared after he got out of prison? in Jimmy's book, his father was exiled to Jersey? Mary's death is unknown same goes for her husband James.

Madeline Glover known as Lina or Lena (B1847 Dublin died sept 1929 in London, England) she was married to Arthur William Gedge and had no children. Her husband died in Southampton.England. He had the will and left the money to his niece Catherine Glover, who was the daughter of William Ferdinand Glover.

Emilie Glover (B1848 died in New York on 1 Oct 1917) She married Samuel Grey in England. no children

William Ferdinand Glover (B1851 Dublin, Died 28th Oct 1917 New York, USA. He died of pneumonia. He married Marion Edwards. They had 3 children: Winifred Marion Theresa Glover, Robert Ferdinand Glover and Catherine Lilian Gladys Glover.

Winifred Glover was the one that I am related to by marriage as she was married to Thomas Marley Wood, they had 3 sons. One of their sons David Earle Wood had a son Colin Voce Wood who is my uncle.

My Uncle Colin was Prof. J.W Glover's Great Great Grandson.
My Uncle Colin doesn't know anything about this family, my aunt, his wife asked me to research his family tree and I told her what I have found and she asked me to do the book for my Uncle for Christmas this year as a surprise!

You mentioned the book Jimmy did, was that called "Jimmy and his friends"? Jimmy mentioned first wife, who was she? she died didn't she? then Jimmy married again to Kathleen Collins? Jimmy mentioned a son from 1st marriage?

You have made my day, I think its brilliant to see the picture of JWG. Its really wonderful! thanks so much!

Jimmy's brother Michael was an musician too? what did he do? where was he? did Michael have Ferdinand as in his middle name? I will try to find Michael and his sister Mary.
Jimmy mentioned two aunts? they were musicians too weren't they?

Thank you so much you have been brilliant help!
Best Wishes

Hi
I am very curious about this church because I have been researching the Glovers. I have been told one of my ancestors was buried in a vault in this church. Her name was Catherine Matailda Glover and there's an memorial plaque of Catherine inside this church? Does anyone know if this is true?
Catherine was an roman catholic, she was an organist for this church for many years and same goes for her husband Prof. John William Glover. They were well known musical family in Dublin for many years. Their children were also well known conductors, composers. harpists and opera singers.

I would love to see the picture of memorial plaques in this church

Any info would be appericated
Best wishes

Hi Robert,

Thanks so much for your info on my Glovers.
Yes have their children, just discovered the eldest son Ferdinand died at age of 23 years old. And Lena was short for Madeline. And its William Ferdinand not Frederick. Yes he died in 1917 in New York, USA. Still cant find his wife Marion nee Edwards' death. Emilie died in New York. Madeline died in Southampton, England. I have their newspapers clippings. There's another daughter Elizabeth, she died in New York, USA.

Do you know anymore about a daughter Mary who married James Mackay? I already know about Jimmy. His book mentioned a brother. Do you know any info about his brother?
I have a Mary Jane Mackay and she had 2 children who were born after Jimmy. I dont know if she was the same Mary.

Thank you so much for your info, it helped!
Best Wishes
