Cornwall / Roskilly/ Reskellie St Keverne research
« on: Thursday 24 November 16 22:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hello. Is anyone researching the Roskilly family from St Keverne Cornwall. I am hoping to find more information on William Reskellie around 1551 who I think married Jane. I know that a son Peter? Who married Blanch. If anyone has any more information or would like to share mine so far that would be great. I'm stuck and not sure how to trace the family back any further. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Finally sorted this out. John J blower married Emma Luxford in 1870. They had ten children the last one was Victoria Ann in 1897 the same year EmmaLuxford/blower died. Their second son ( Victoria's elder brother was Thomas Blower born 1875. He went on to marry Annie Rapley and had a son also Thomas in 1898. This Thomas married Margaret Babbage who was Edwin Babbage's sister. So we have the Babbage brother and sister both marrying into the Blower Family.

Sorry. Got some of above wrong. Trying to post from memory rather than look at my research! Thomas married Margaret Babbage ( not his daughters) they had 3 children. Joyce, Ruby and Alan. Was just talking to my mother who remembers visiting Tomas and Margaret who were her Uncle and Auntie

I think we are related! I have Annie Blower is my great grand mother. ( I don't have her first name as Victoria) but if it is the same person she had 9 children with Thomas Blower. I have her eldest son Thomas as having descendents that married into the Babbage family( Thomas's daughter Margaret) I am descended from her daughter Rose who was my grandmother who married Frank Coyne. I have a copy of Thomas and Annie's marriage certificate 1897 in Hoxton and his birth certificate which gives his parents as John James Blower and Emma  Luxford 1874 St Luke's white cross street. Are you related To Ruby Collingsho lived in  looe ? I haven't figured out if it is possible to direct message each other but do be in touch if you find any more information on the Luxford/Blowers. As you can see in this thread I have got into a muddle with them and have got no further for sure.

Can anyone help me trace the parents and siblings of Mary Ann Murphy? She was born around 1860 in Inniscara Co Cork and maried John Sullivan in Co Cork in 1879. I know John and Mary moved to London and have picked them up on the 1891 census onwards but wuld reall like to find out more about Mary's Brothers and sisters and her parents names, especially her mothers maiden name. I have had no success finding a firm birth certificate for her. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: Patrick Keneally/Kenealy
« on: Thursday 30 June 16 18:07 BST (UK)  »

An Ann Norah KENEALY (born 1865 father:Michael) marries John TOMPKINS July 13 1884 Maida Hill.
The witnesses are Thomas and Ellen SANGSTER.

Thats definately the Ellen I am looking for, so if she was a witness to Ann Norah Kenealy's marriage then maybe Ann is a sister? confuding though because Ann's father is Michael and Ellen's father is definately Patrick on her own marriage certificate. Is the fathers name likely to be wrong on a marriage certificate. I also note that Thomas and Ellen lived at 16 Nightingale street in 1891 and

'There's a marriage in 1889 of a John Kenealy, 26, son of Patrick, a bricklayer. His address is 26 Nightingale St'
could john also be a sibling as they are in the same street?
Perhapes i should look for a group of siblings including Ellen, John and Ann Norah in Marylebone area.
I'm starting to think that Caroline as Patrick's wife is wrong because I only have that from a possible census and that could be the wrong Patrick. I dont have a mothers name for sure.

I have found out that their is a family connection rumoured to Jospeh O'Sullivan who assassinated Field Marshal Sir Henry Wilson in 1922.O'Sullivan's mother was Mary Ann O'Sullivan (née Murphy) and one of the witnessess to Ellen's marriage is a W or M Murphy. Could that be a route to find out more I wonder?
