Hi Yvonne,
Many thanks for looking for me. Where is Walsham PR? I assumed everything was at Bury St Edmonds ???
I believe they are Rebecca's siblings and any extra details are always very helpful. I have Rebecca's birth cert but not baptismal details still. She was born  on 26th nov 1841 in Langham. Which dates did you look between for my records?
      Many thanks once again  ;D

Occupation Interests / Re: Plated Mounter?

Many thanks Stan. That means it could well be my ancestors will, that would be a first as we are not renowned for leaving anything!

Occupation Interests / Plated Mounter?
« on: Thursday 14 December 06 19:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,
Is this possibly anything to do with silversmiths. I have an ancestor who was a silversmith around 1838 and have found a will for the same name with occupation "plated mounter" for 1857. Any chance it could be the same person?

Cumberland Lookup Requests / Re: 1841: lookup Cockermouth: WRANGHAM

Hi Louise,
Thanks for looking & yes I had found that William Joseph Wrangham and believe he may be mine.It just seems a little strange the move in areas from Westminster to whitechapel. Also the change in occupations from silversmith to carpenter from father to son! I have no idea where his parents are from but may search the parish records for any other children and their marriage.
Can I ask where you looked for their marriage and what batch no you are refering to?

Hi I am researching Wranghams as part of my family tree and most appear to be in the north of England. My lot to early 1800's are around the Strand and city areas of London. My gt gt gt grandad William Joseph Wrangham was a Journeyman carpenter.I have wondered if he may have originated from the north of England. Is that where your research is based?

Scotland / Re: Help with a Scotcher "myth"
« on: Sunday 10 December 06 23:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I have just come across your post and had no idea that the name Scotcher might have Scots roots. I have the name as part of my family tree and was told we were of Hugenot descent. On contacting the Hugenot society they could not confirm this so felt at a loss as to where to go next. I have traced the family to the early 1800's and they are in the Bethnal Green area of London. I suppose thie is a bit too far south to have any connection with your Scotchers?
