Jeflb,

I have been looking at some of your other posts.
The Benjamin Brock you refer to was baptised on 24th June 1821 in Upper Hayford, Oxford, son of Benjamin Bagot and Sarah Brock, he was living in 'Upper and Lower' Hayford.  (There was another Benjamin Baggott who died in 1837, I think).

Hi great to hear form you,
yes you are correct re Benjamin Brock Upper and Lower Hayford, my
GG Granddad ;)  Not sure if there is a link to the other Benjamin Robert Brock , there is a Robert Brock on My GGG Nan Sarah Brock's side, but I haven't found his wife.  Yes Sarah gave birth to my
B Brock his father being Benjamin Baggott. He went on to marry some one else had a son who sadly died very young. Any information you have and would like to share would be great.

I know my Granddad William George Brock was married had two sons left his first wife to be with my Nan, may be there is a link there some where?

Regards

jef

Hi
I know your post is an old one so not sure if you've resolved your query or not however I have the OFHS CDs with the transcripts for Upper Heyford and found the following:

Upper Heyford Baptisms
1821 Jun 24 Bagot [sic] Benjamin s Benjamin & Sarah BROCK lab Lower Heyford.

In the transcript BROCK is underlined because of the discrepancy between this name and the surname entered in the first column for the child.  There is no indication in the baptism that Benjamin is illegitimate.

In 1823 a Sarah Brock marries Thomas Bateman of Lower Heyford on Oct 25.  There is no marriage of her to a Benjamin Bagot, of course this marriage could be for a different Sarah.

Do you think this could be your Benjamin?

Regards
Steph

Please can anyone help me re the Leahy family of Fethard, Tipperary.  My great grandfather was Thomas leahy, born 1872, in Fethard.  He married a Margaret Ryan, again in Fethard.  They had ten children, the eldest of which was my maternal grandmother Catherine (Katie) Leahy.  The family lived in Chapel Lane Fethard for many years - to my knowledge the house is still there.  Catherine married a british soldier, William Bedford, again in Fethard in 1916. If anyone could help I'd be very grateful, thanks, Anderton

Hi, I do have the marriage certificate for Jeremiah I will get the dates and post them for you to see
Many thanks for your quick reply 😊

Jeflb, Do you know the dates when your Jeremiah and/or Thomas lived? Do you know where they lived? Have you found them on any census forms? It's helpful to start with yourself and work backwards, documenting along the way.
