Thank you, RV Payne. Yes, while preparing a talk on Medicine in Malta in WWI, I saw the "100 years ago" item in the Daily Telegraph (30.3.1916/2016) recording Arthur Turnbull's dramatic protest in the House of Commons. Looking him up in Drew's list of Commissioned Officers in the RAMC (as recommended by Duck) (both in a library and on-line) was unsuccessful : the years 1914 to 1917 appear to be missing. Googling and newspaper on-line archives gave details of his standing for 3 by-elections in 1916, with a message similar to his Commons protest. The Medical Directory gave details of his subsequent career at Glasgow Western Infirmary, including writing one book and translating 2 others.
I wonder whether Bonnie 21, since her last posting, has made further progress towards writing his biography.

I have found the posting (2012) by Bonnie 21 (A.) about her grandfather, Dr Arthur Turnbull, Lieut. RAMC. I encountered Turnbull when researching the medical history of Malta in World War I for a talk I am to give this evening to the Osler Club of London. I have some information on his subsequent political career, his medical work in Glasgow, and his work as an author and translator of medical texts. But I have frustratingly little about his time with the RAMC in Malta. Can we be of help to each other ?
