Just a thought. My link to the Battle of Sedgemoor was Thomas Place who was a Quaker (for a while) and some of his vital records (kids bapts) are in their records. He was from Edington.

Hi Welshgirl

This is my family too :). I believe Hannah (Stroud) was daughter of Thomas and Mary Stroud. They had several daughters: Elizabeth (1805), Hannah (1807), Sarah (1808), Fanny (1810), Mary Ann (1811), Jane (1813), Isabella (1817), Phyllis (1819), Susanna (1823). All were baptised Moorlinch.

Either Hannah or Fanny could be the one you're looking for.

Hi all

Hasper has been mis-transcribed - it is Hooper. There were 2 daughters Judith & Julia but the names seem to have been swapped around. Maybe Judith died, though I can find no evidence of this. I am descended from their brother George. Other siblings: Deliah, Vincent, Henry, Judith & Charles have gone AWOL. Edwin (sometimes Edward) was transported to Van Dieman's land. James died 1847. Jemima died in Bridgwater workhouse age 1 in 1850. Samuel moved to the Banwell/Yatton area. Still trying to track down the rest of them :)

Hi Matt, I live in the UK and am descended from Edwin's brother George. He was born Somerset not Devon (I have definitive proof of this) and have various details about the family. Please get in touch :). Sue
