Elders of Glengarnock Reading Room (Its not Kilbirnie Gospel Hall, but the same denomination in the same village):

I believe that left to write they are, John Montgomery  Barclay, William Rabey,  Charlie loughlin and John Peebles I have other pictures.

Theres also  another picture enclosed of a Bible gifted to John M Barclay from Sam Warnock 1929 in Irvington New York. I have pictures of the cover etc too if you want to see it.  Sam had immigrated there,  Montgomery (as he was known) went there too but I know they didnt travel or live together so its likely he went to another part.  I know they helped build up the Gospel Hall there. He became quite famous as a preacher,  I am in contact with other members of his family if you want me to put you in touch.

He is mentioned here http://www.plymouthbrethren.org/article/5989

I see you also have "Hays" in your tree, me too from Ayrshire. Can we connect about that?

I believe this is also him

Hi Sandra,

Again your help is fantastic, thankyou.

No Im not the owner of the link you posted, I dont know where that came from or if the system generated it somehow. But I did start this discussion.

The Glass family, came from Bushmills in the north of ireland, we have traced back a few generations to Rose/Rosina Kinnaird who seems to have come from ballymoney ireland, with her husband, Alexander Glass from Bushmills.

Im really interested to know about the genealogy of Alexander Glass, I know he was married to Mary Stewart and had a daughter Rosina. He (or his parents) came from Bushmills Ireland and lived in Kilbirnie Ayrshire Scotland. Rosina was born in Bushmills in 1878

Any ideas or help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Joseph

Hi Sandra, You have provided me with so much information which I would never have found, thanks so much!

My great great grandfather died young and nothing is known about him, so now I know a lot more information about his background and family, and rebecca (his sister´s)  family.

Its so kind of you

There is or at least was a street in Kilbirnie called Glasgow Street, its probably named after him as its one of our oldest streets in the town.
