Lancashire / Making sense of Burial Index Ford Cemetry
« on: Monday 11 April 16 19:54 BST (UK)  »
I am looking online at the grave/burial index via ancestory . co .uk  next to the name it gives the grave/plot number e.g AE563 which are hand writen out from 1939 however at the top of the page it says public section SV .

i dont understand as i know this is a private plot due to other relatives being in there but at the top of the page is is a public section ?

I would really like to revist and locate the plot properly however this information has confused me.

Hi i am new to all the ancestry stuff etc and have started my family tree, i am signed up to ancestry and whilst this has been helpful i have become stuck. it has given me various grave numbers etc for ford however when looking i have had a lot of trouble such as graves being labeled 200 then the next for example 2064 etc in various areas. i have seen the map of ford and used it however i have been unable to locate plots etc or any stones even when searching for various relatives.

Just out of interest could you please see if there is any information regarding

William James McGlennon birth abt 1872 death age 69 abt 1941 buried 15 May 1941 from what i can understand of the index it reads AB563

OR

Philip McMonagle Birth Year   abt 1826 Age 77 Death Year abt 1903 Burial Date 16 Apr 1903 grave M212
