The dates I gave were for the births of my grandmother and her siblings who were the most credible to have been in the photograph, I think you are right that it is likely to be your grandfather's generation rather than any earlier given the style of photograph, and the numbers of children present in comparison with the number on roll according to the records. When I read the log book I was struck by the similarity between the school mistress's writing and that of my grandma. It is great to see your own family mentioned isn't it. They seem to have had time off due to helping with the potato picking etc. or helping to look after a new baby.  Is it name removed who is still at the school house? Her family were there when I visited in 2009.
