US Lookup Requests / Re: Rose Agnes Bagley California 1920

Here are the links to the photos for Alexandria & Rose Bagley. I would take the death date for Rose with a grain of salt as that is also given as the death date for her mother, Jennie, which I know is wrong.

Very strong resemblance in the two photos.

At the time of Ria's death, I know she had an elderly cousin who lived in Glendale who was an attorney and did her will. Do know there we several relationship errors in it which puzzled the Emanuels and me at the time. We figured that neither was playing with a full deck at the time and it was none of our business. Rose was alive at that time, Dec-Jan 1966-67, and was brought in for a visit immediately before Alexandria's death.

There was also an older sister, Alice, who died as a child.

I have what appears to be yearbook photos of Rose and Alexandria as young adults. Will post them on Dropbox for you if you are interested. Also have photos of Ria in Korea but those need to be extracted from a HDD on my dead computer. Can also send them, when I get around to that.

My mother's family are from Belgium and the Netherlands and some thoughtful soul has them traced back to the 17th century. My dad's folks were British and emigrated on the fly also in the 17th century but some zealous family member has traced them back to the Greek City States. That is more than I care to know.

Enjoy the evening. Thankfully I do not need to listed to the Presidential Debate tonight. This makes you think more highly of the British electoral system.

I have no direct connection to the Bagley family other than Alexandria (Ria). I served with her in Korea and Japan and she recommended me for a Command position when she left the Air Force Library Service. She was my mentor and a leader in every sense of the word. I remember her saying to me, "Figuring out the problem is much easier than solving it." And then she would ask what solutions you were considering.

Her life-long friend, Narcissa Bond Emanuel, who boarded with the Bagley family, always spoke highly of their mother. I think the father had passed about then.

If they were all like Ria they were indeed remarkable and I regret missing out on that.

This is a rather old thread, but if anyone is still following, I can provide this information. The source is her sister who said that, according to Rose, the marriage to Wm. Sarri was bigamous and that he had not abandoned his first wife and family when he married her. That happened before the death of her mother, Jennie Bagley. Rose was still alive at the time of Alexandria's death (1966) and boarding in Death Valley with a Mormon family. Possibly the marriage was annulled. She definitely used her maiden name after the separation.
