It could be that Henry and Alfred's  mother were not married, and Alfred was illigitamate, and his  birth was registered under the mothers surname, but he used the fathers surname.

Unless the one on 1871 census is the dau Mary on the 1851-1861 census's.

But Mary Goodhead, on the 1871 census, is married?
So her maiden name is unlikely to be Goodhead?! ;D

Unless that is wrong and she is single.
