Richard Margetson..........born 1740.........ANYWHERE BETWEEN 1730 AND 1740
married………1766…….Banns were read on 2nd, 9th and 16th November. Both were single and OTP.
Esther Blanchflower born 1773 ??……………burial was 1st March, 1772 which was the same day that her daughter Susan was baptised.

Abraham Margetson born 1766………..1769…….Baptised 19th March, 1769 in Ovington.
died 05/1856 buried 05/06/1856 St Mary, Cranworth
 married  Elizabeth born 1784 died 05/1867…………………died..28th May, 1867 & burried 01/06/1867
 St Nicholas, East Dereham

Notes I have for Abraham:-

1……He signed as witness to 4 marriages between 1808 and 1818 in Cranworth. Presumably he did so as a friend and not as parish clerk or warden.

2……..The Norfolk Chronicle dated 11th September, 1813. Abraham acquired a 'Gamekeeper's Certificate' at a cost of £1-5-0 for 1813. This covered areas of:- Letton, Cranworth, Southburgh, Reymerstone, Stow Bedon and Stow Beckerton. Mr. Theos. T. Gurdon Esq

3………Most records show him as a 'Farmer' except for the birth records of some children when he is a 'Keeper' or 'Gamekeeper'.
4……1841 census; A 'Farmer' living on Black Moor Row in Shipdham. He is with his wife and 4 children.
5……..1851 census; Living at Blackmoor Row, Shipdham. He is a 'Farmer' of 32 acres, employing 1 labourer.

NOTES for Elizabeth CROSS
1st June, 1867. Memorial number BT18 in parish of East Dereham. Inscription: In memory of Elizabeth Margetson died May 28th, 1867 aged 84 years.

Your tree I have named WISBECH and I have another tree I named MACCLESFIELD.

I strongly believe that they should be merged. Wisbech had Richard and Esther with 5 children and the other has a Richard and an Ann FLUTER with 6 children.

When he married Ann on 6 January 1784 he was a widower and presume Esther was first wife. Although I am of the opinion that they are the same man, I have not merged them yet. Still on the lookout for one more bit of evidence to prove the case.

Bye for now,
Brian

Thanks Brian - where can i find the rest of these family trees? Are they uploaded to a particular website?

Pleased to see you got message. Some years ago I started researching all Margetsons worldwide in the hope of seeing how/when/where there might be a tie-up between them all. As a result I now have a tree with your Gt. Ellingham family group which I believe may start with a John Margetson and Ann ? who married in that village on 25th November, 1731. There were a number of Margetsons in that area to the West/South West of Norwich. The tree I have for your group has over 600 people and I would be very happy to answer any questions you may have. I will assume that you now have the answers to the questions in your earlier posts on Rootschat?
Bye for now,
