Sorry missed this until now.
Alice Muriel Annie Startup was born on 6th May 1908 in Nottingham. She had two brothers, Charles Cecil born 1906 and Frank Maurice born 1912. Their father, Francis Cecil Hill Startup had been  working as a traveller for an agricultural feed company and in the Census of 1911 he is shown as a Manager boarding in Ecclesall, Sheffield - could be prior to the family moving there. His father was  Frank Morris Startup born c.1854 in the Maidstone area and he was an agricultural labourer born to Thomas Startup and Charlotte nee Barrow c.1818

Hope this helps.  I am looking for the grandchildren of John Leslie Thompson born Sheffield 1932.

I am trying to trace Mary Ann Thompson, born to Stephen and Mary 15th June1880 in Warton.  She seems to disappear after leaving her son James with her mother Mary in 1901.  Family oral history has her going to Canada but I can find no marriage date or travel details.  She is buried with Stephen and Mary in Warton churchyard.

Mary's parents, William Jamieson and Mary (nee Smith) are buried in the churchyard at Kirkinner.  The headstone was paid for by daughter Margaret ( married name Kirk)

Mabel Chisholm Thompson died in March 1956.  The Wortley record is the correct one as they were then living in Deepcar.
