Hi,

I have a number of those names and stumbled across your call while searching for one in particular.

Elizabeth Ann Pollard, born 1834, Redruth Cornwall. Dau of Thomas Pollard and Elizabeth Ann Cox (apparently).
She married my g-g-grandfather Abraham George in 1853, when both were 18, and they emigrated to Ballarat goldfields in 1855 and 1856. She died in 1905.

Trying to verify her through census records at the moment, I have found, in 1851, an Elizabeth Ann Pollard, 16, tailoress, living at Roach Row, Redruth with a Margreat Cock, 67, widow.

In 1841, Elizabeth Pollard, 7, living with a Margaretta Cock, 55, and a jane Cock.  I am presuming for now that this may be a phonetic spelling of Cox.

But I have not been able to find any baptism, marriage records for any of them, nor for Thomas Pollard or his wife Elizabeth Ann Cox. Perhaps they died, which is why she is living with Margaret, presumably her grandmother.

I also have a Martha Pascoe, nee Tippet, christened in Gunwalloe, Cornwall on 20 Feb, 1831, and married to a Richard Pascoe, land agent of Sithney, on 22 September, 1853. What happens to Richard after that, I don't know:  In the 1861 census Martha is living with her sister Mary Webb in Helston, and has a son Richard, 5.  Another daughter (presumably) Charlotte A Pascoe, is living with her grandparents in Gunwalloe.

As for the Bowdens, there is another spelling: BOULDEN. And there is a long illustrious line of those in the St Keverne area, dating back to the 1590s.

If you are interested in more on these -- or if you or anyone can help me with my huntings -- drop me a line.

regards
Gaz

Cornwall Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Eliza Pearce/ Amos Dabb

HI: Just reading the latest contributions about Amos Dabb, this is not the same Amos(born 23 Feb. 1804 he died prior to 1861) he was married to Eliza Pearce. The Amos Dabb who died in 1865, was born in 1849, son of Richard Dabb & Harriet Bice.
Quite obviously all the contributors on this line are researching either Pearce or Dabb. I have tons of Dabb info going back to 1565 if your interested.

:)Hi: Thats great, I am willing to share what little I do have on this family line. I think? Edward Pascoes father was Edward also, I do not have his mothers first name either.

Son Samuel Pascoe, was listed on the Ships list as "infant" for the City of Brooklyn, when they left England for the USA.
I don't have any notes on the other son Edward Pascoe jr. only his dates of birth and death.
I do know that the mother,(Harriet) did remarry  to a man named Samuel  Henry Rogers abt. 1873 in the USA & they appear in the 1880 USA Census.
Does this help?

HI: Do you have a Edward Pascoe b. 1850, d. 9 July 1872 in Middleway, St. Blazey, Cornwall, England? He would have married a Harriet Ann Dabb 12 May 1870. Two children of the marriage Edward George Pascoe b. 16 Apr. 1871, in Kea, died May 29, 1950 in the USA, also another son Samuel Pascoe b. 1872 IN St. Blazey, C/W England

Carlson: My John Pearce/Pearse (I've seen both) may have had a sister, Eliza - the time frame is right.  But I don't show one by that name.  That area of my research is a bit hazy and not necessarily correct.  I'm unsure of the parents' name's I've attached to the family - John & Martha.  Not all the children were born in Roche.

Trees:  My John BOWDEN was born in the Linkinhorne area (North Hills, etc).  Have not traced him back to see who he might have married.  He was born about 1818 in the Linkinhorne area.  At one time, I thought he'd married the daughter of g-g-g grandfather.  That g-g-g gf also had a son, James, where I start figuring my dad's lineage.  Jame's wife was John's older sister.  Haven't figured out yet if that is possible.

If someone is a close match to the data I have on hand, I will indicate it as a Guesstimate in my Source Notes and often why I had that conclusion.  I have also gone back and tried to prove the info true or false.  When I'm sharing that info with others, I try to indicate that the info is indeed not certain.   RedFox
REDFOX: I don't have any parents listed for Eliza Pearce, just that she was born in 1809 in Kenwyn, Cornwall, England.
If you come across any DABB families in the many parishes of Cornwall, they are all directly related to me.
Thanks, Carlson.
