On further research I can see in records of Statutory Registers of births (230/ 13), that a son William is registered as born on 20th April, 1867. Parents:  George and Eliza (nee Kemp) Milne at Hatton of Oyne?

I can see James. Born 12 March 1831. Recorded in Parish Register. I did wonder about Grandpa's family connections in Newcastle. He was associated with work for Joseph Leech. The workshops his firm built were directly behind what are now the Law Courts. I have some quite early photographs (Maxie, William's younger brother. Subject matter is not necessarily recorded on back of them. However they are interesting). I have an elder sister. Honor Mairi Milne Kirkaldy. She lives in Grafton, Ontario, Canada. She has two children, but no grandchildren. I have two sons. And two grandchildren.

William Milne married Elizabeth Sherrifs (Shirras). In 1878 they had a son, John.  William can be found at 6yrs old  in the 1841 Census for Oyne.

My Grandfather. William Milne, was born in Oyne. I think he was a brother to Helen. My Mother (Grace Eliza Milne) told my sister and I, that he had been married to one of the Shirras sister. She had died in childbirth. One of her brothers (?) married William's sister. My Grandfather gravitated to Newcastle upon Tyne and became a successful builder in the town. He married Ellen Heslop. They had my mother. An only child.
