Thanks. My Henry James Clark doesn't appear but he's the Clerk to the Comptroller. In the 1823 Portsmouth Guide by Hollingsworth he is identified.

I found in the catalogue which lists Georgian Kent 1817, Pigots but I can't find a link to view the doc.

I can't even find the Pigots guide on Family Search, I'd like to look through other years now for Portsmouth. Help  :-[

In a Hollingsworth Guide for Portsmouth there were two pages dedicate to Customs Officers
