I hadn't realized the background revealed so will have a study tonight, it does look like a small spire.There is a program called vuescan that I tried before and it does wonders with the various ways and formats it works in, I can strongly recommend it as it is was in front of normal scanning programs.

I lived in Steethouse and Married in Sharlston Church also, The only horse and cart was Seymours in my time, my friends grandad was Aston and I shall ask him. had a go at your photo and it took about 12 minutes, finding this page again took me 1 hour

two of my late aunties are on this photo and it was one of them that put this in the local paper, Geoff Wilbey may be on it as well, The Pineapple is under rebuild right now, to a private house I think.

The only Barker I can remember from Streethouse was Martin and he lived on Litelroyd but that wasn't his given name, he moved to Sharlston and worked at the colliery there, his name may have been Edward. Was my mums age so DOB circa 1920

Tommy Sunley cut my hair once, nice bloke. the shops were back to back if I remember correctly and the grocers shop is still there.

re: Judy.. my Streethouse family were called Chadwick. I would love to know if any of their descendants still live there!

I knew some Chadwicks  in Streethouse Judy, Mary lived with her father Tom and there was Herbert AKA old Chad. I can't answer your query but will say very likely.
