I am glad I can help. Yes I am interested in this family and researching the line. I am not connected to this family myself but researching for my neighbour as she knew I had researched my own family and asked if I could help with hers. I would be very greatful for any assistance you may be able to give me and I am happy to impart any information I have from this end. If you would like to e-mail me at (*) I would be happy to hear from you.
Kind regards and happy hunting
Tracey

Hi everyone,
I may be able to help here.  Thomas Swarbrick born 1878 to James and Mary Ann (Alls) died in New Zealand in 1951. He married Mary Turner Pollock in 1899 in Edinburgh.

Hope this helps - from NZ
Tracey Meeten

Also as an addition Thomas was buried in New Zealand under the name Thomas Henry Swarbrick

Hi there,

I was looking for the name of this cemetery as I have most if not all the Driscoll headstones photographed from a recent visit to Baltimore. I see you have O'Driscolls in you interest list. Would like to make contact. Mine left during the famine to London. I now live in Auckland, New Zealand

Hi Kris,

Thanks for your reply to this message board.  I still have had no luck in finding Davids birth as there were 2 born in Nantglyn where he said he was born at that time.  I have him on the 1881 census but I have no way of telling who his father was as his marriage hasn't been found in any parish records and he probably was a Mormon by then and didn't marry in a conventional religious ceremony. Any registers of marriages have loads of David Jones marriages so hard to pin point the right one without buying all the certificates!

Will keep looking anyway.  Non of his children were christened in parish records and only a few of them were even registered!  With a name like Jones it is all very hard!!
Thanks again
Tracey

Thanks Newgentforlife,

I will keep this on my records in case they are connected to my Joseph and Elizabeth.  Still looking for Josephs marriage to Elizabeth Grandy.  Summer is here now in NZ so spending it more outdoors than on the computer so not getting very far right now! :D
Thanks again for your post.
Kind Regards from Auckland

Thank you to everyone that has replied. I am still hunting for the elusive Joseph Glenny, who was a pawnbroaker by the looks of things in 1852, and his parents and siblings.  I am lucky enough to have a lovely lady helping by looking into parish records etc to try and track him and his wife, Elizabeth Grandy, down.
Any other information that comes along will be greatfully excepted.

Thank you all
Kind Regards from New Zealand

Down / Glenny and Grandy families from Newry
« on: Thursday 07 August 08 23:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi Listers,

I am looking for any information on the Glenny family from Newry in the 17 and 1800's.  In particular Joseph Glenny who was born abt 1812 and married Elizabeth Grandy in abt 1834 in Newry.  Their son, Henry Glenny went to Australia and married there in 1859 and became a local notable figure in the community of Ballarat.  I have another Glenny family tree I am trying to tie in with Joseph but had no luck so far.

Any help with this family would be much appreciated.
Thank you and kind Regards from Auckland, New Zealand
