Thank you so much for that. It is always easy to see in hindsight when someone points out the right words. In this case Thomas was of St Stephen's as were all the Pead/Peeds of this time living in the parish. I do not know about Maria and must do some research. What I do know is that when Thomas's sister was married 3 years later, she and her husband were identified as Lollards so perhaps a licence was required when one party was a non conformist of some type and not church of England.
