Hi, thanks for the reply, i have edited the post removing those who may still be alive.
I managed to do extensive research on my own family using just what was available online so i was hoping i could do the same, as i am already doing this research for free i'm not willing to pay for the copy certificate, unfortunately the pdf download isn't available for that record otherwise i would have done it.

Hi all, i have been researching for a friend who doesn't know much about her family, i thought i was making good progress but i'm really stuck.

my research starts with the marriage between Leslie hardy and May bagnall, ashbourne Q2 1934, they had at least 3 children including george, whose birth is in ashbourne with mothers surname bagnall.

I thought i had found leslie and may living in belper in 1939 but there are no children living with them (not even redacted), i contacted someone who had that leslie and may in their tree but he was convinced that may's surname was jewkes and not bagnall which is definitely not the one i am tracing as the childrens birth records states their mother as bagnall.

I can't find any may bagnalls that would fit, just a mary ellen bagnall, daughter of alfred and ellen but she married somebody else.

i researched the leslie hardy b1899 from the 1939 register believing him to be the one i was looking for, his parents james hardy and edith dunnicliffe, i feel like i have spent hours researching and got absolutely nowhere!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, maybe a fresh pair of eyes can shed some light on things.

Here is a very similar card for a Dutch man which has already been translated.

I have a son studying Japanese at Uni - he may be able to translate for you, or possibly his tutor. I understand there are a number of dialects, but assume it would be in the Tokyo dialect? Post an image here, or send me a pm.  :)

Hi, here is the document.

I am wondering if this is Joseph in 1911
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X49G-MRP

Barrow in Furness is not that far away from Lancaster.  I have a family member in Barrow in 1911 whose family was in Morecambe  ::)

Thankyou for that rosie, after getting hold of may's birth certificate it says joseph is an iron moulder so i'm pretty sure this is him in 1911!
