Dates for civil records were explained in the link given-
http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/Irish-civil-registration.html
1864 for births, deaths & Catholic marriages but non-Catholic marriages from 1845.
Thanks

Haha, one more question, what are the furthest back records that I can order on an Irish certificate?

So does the photocopy contain all of the same information as the €20 one?

www.groireland.ie where you can get a PHOTOCOPY CERT of original for 4€ - original on Parchment paper and Government Stamp will cost 20€ and is used for Official/Legal purposes
Thanks, wonder why the Irish certificates are so much cheaper than English ones

Ireland / Irish Certificates

I am slightly confused of how to acquire Irish Certificates. The reason I say this is because you can order online for €20, but looking at previous threads on here you can apparently get them for €4. Is this true? If this is possible, could I get them for this cheap even though I live in the UK? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as you can tell I am a bit confused!!

So are you saying the age to marry in Ireland was 21?

I have been recently researching the Irish section of my family tree, when I came across a marriage record for my great-great grandfather. It states that he is "under-age" yet he would be 21/22. Could anyone explain why this would be? It would a great help, thank you.
