I notice that this was an old query, but for anyone looking in the future, I can recommend a book called 'Pomp and Poverty' A History of Silk in Ireland by Mairead Dunlevy and a two part paper back "Industrial Dublin Since 1698 & The Silk Industry in Dublin.

My family in Dublin were Dunne's and their last link to the Industry was O'Reilly Dunne & Co of 30 College Green Dublin and manufacturing took place in the tenements of Marks Alley. They were taken over by Atkinsons who at the time were located at 32 College Green Dublin.

Cheers Alison

I don't think we can treat any family tree out of Ireland as being gospel, especially with the limited records available.  I see Arthur Andrews married 3 times, just to make up for Adelaide and Eva not marrying.

I think my mother's side of the family would be easier as they were from Buckinghamshire.

Thanks again

Graeme

Hi Alison
I gather you received the photograph. I think the older couple seated on the left are Ann and William Dunne (father and mother of the Bride), the grandson in front of William would be Adrian Ravenswood Dunne and the one on the left would be young William. The 3 men standing at the back on the left I think are John, Charles and Henry Dunne. John and Charles 1/2 brothers to Elizabeth and Henry her actual brother. The 2 women in white standing at the left I think are John Dunnes wife Sarah and Pollie I think is a nickname for the wife of either Charles or Henry.  To the far left, I think is Elizabeth's sister Louise (Lucy). Sitting on the right at front I think are Aunt Maria Price, Adelaide and Eva, behind them the best man Mr Gleeson, Rev Stevenson and cousin Charles Price. Any other suggestions from someone that knows more always good to hear. I received the copy of the photo from the family of Louisa Dunne who became Louisa Carey who went with husband and family to Australia.

Cheers

Hi Alison

More than happy to share copy of photos and information. I have tried attaching a PDF copy of the Wedding photo and the writing which was on the back. You will have to let me know if you received it or not, this is all new to me haha, and if not, I'll have to ask someone better skilled than myself.
Elizabeth was the daughter of William H Dunne and Anne Price. From what I have read so far, it looks like Anne was Williams 2nd wife and his 1st wife was Elizabeth. My Dunn/Dunne line goes back via my GtGt Grandfather Thomas Johnson Dunne who came out to New Zealand with his wife, son and 3 daughters in 1875. His father being William H Dunne and mother Elizabeth Johnson.

Cheers

Hi, I have recently been given a copy of an old 1868 photograph of the wedding of Arthur Andrews to Elizabeth Dunne in Rathgar Dublin 24 Jun 1868.  Elizabeth gave birth to a son William Nathaniel Andrews in Jan 1873 and then Elizabeth passed away in Feb 1873. I noticed in the 1901 census that William Nathaniel Andrews was living with his two Aunts, Adelaide and Eva Elizabeth. Adelaide and William were listed as Pawnbrokers and Eva a music scholar. By 1911 census it appears that Adelaide had passed away, William was married with two sons, John James and Arthur George Andrews. William was working in a clothier business and Eva was a music professor. The photograph is an old painted photo and apart from Arthur Andrews his two sisters Adelaide and Eva are also in it. My link is via Elizabeth Dunne. Any other information relating to the Andrews/Dunne and connecting families would be really appreciated.
