Hi Tara,

Although I am not related to the Miles family in Standon I did know George Miles when I was a very young boy in Wellpond Green, Standon who lived in a Caravan there. He is buried in Standon Churchyard as I have the burial records of this church as it is where my grandfather is buried on my mother's side. I do in fact have a photo of him taken in the early 50`s in his caravan of which you may wish to have a copy, if so please let me know.

Kind Regards
Phil Bonnett

Hi, Just an update on this. It seems a cousin of mine in the USA has confirmed that Ernest Alfred Bonnett visited his brother in Canada around 1900 to 1910 and was trying to get into the USA. So far have not picked him up on passenger lists etc from England to Canada. Thankyou all.

I'm related to Ernest Alfred Bonnett and have just received his birth cert; he was born 3 January 1881 in Gillingham, Kent. The original post was from a friend of mine. Ernest Bonnett has eluded me now for quite a few years now. My only conclusion is that he emigrated like his younger brother Herbert Edwin to Canada then down to USA in the early 1900`s but to where ?  I have tried passage lists etc but he has seemed to have vanished. I think the HMS Pembroke angle may be him but wrong area that has been put down for his birth but that may be a error as they do occur quite a lot but his age is spot one. I think my only hope is that someone else is also researching their family tree in the name Bonnett and are related to our Ernest Alfred also. Thank you all for your help so far.
