Scotland / Re: SHIP that blew up
« on: Tuesday 11 July 06 15:33 BST (UK)  »
Ok, lets see, his last name was Milburn, James or William.  Parents were John Milburn and Mary Ann nee-McGill Milburn.  he was born around 1886-1888.  His sisters name was Agnes (my grandmum).  John Milburn owned a small fleet of ships, but pissed em' away........where eventually around 1910 or so Mary Ann came to USA with the daughter Agnes.  I must assume that this tragic event happen prior to that time.  Mary Ann ended up raising my father and uncle, both born in the USA.
I have been unable to establish the birth of either James or William, as I did find Agnes born in Belfast.....but neither boys "came up".
thats about all I know.
thanks,
K

Scotland / SHIP that blew up
« on: Saturday 08 July 06 17:01 BST (UK)  »
I have a missing relative that was aboard a ship that literally blew up.  He was an engine man.......last name Milburn.  Not sure if his first name was William or James.  But i know that there was a ship that blew up and he was a casualty.  Does anyone know the name of that ship.  He was born in th late 1880's......so i assume it was after he was 20 or so sometime in the early 1900's.  Any information would be great!
thanks!!!!! K

« on: Saturday 08 July 06 03:23 BST (UK)  »
Im looking for 3 children of Robert Blair and Elizabeth (nee McGill) Blair.
I am missing Janet, James and John.  Other children were born in irvine, or Auchinleck, between the years 1874 and 1895.  I have located the other 9 children.  If anyone is a link to the Blair or McGill family, please contact me. And if anyone happens to find my missing 3 links, thank you for trying!

I'm looking for the birth record of Archibald Urquhart.....On the 1871 Scotland census he was 5 yrs old and listed as his birth place was "England".....thats it.
So here is what I know if someone would like to give me a hand.
at the age of 24 he married Annabella Higgins McGill, His parents are listed as Andrew Burley Urquhart and Mary Reid (i have S/P confirm on parents).  Just need to know poor or Archibald's full name, birth date and place, and also brother Andrew list as 7 on the census.....
