I'm not sure if someone has already mentioned this but there is a great article on the Brookers called 'James and George Brooker: West Cumberland shipcarvers of the mid-19th
century' By D. Ian Smith which is worth a read. Also, does anyone know of any proof that he one a medal at the Great Exhibition? I can't find his name on the Reports by the Juries.
