Hey there I am so sorry! I'm not used to using sites like this and I didn't realise what I had to do! If there's anyway we can still speak I'm still in full contact with all direct decendants of John Durkin, our family home is rich with tokens from the families past and my grandmother is still living!(John's wife) would love to connect, please try to reply! Hello Barbara, my name is Sean and I am the grandson of John Durkin. I came across this quite randomly whilst googling my Grandad John, I'm not sure if you know but he was fairly famous in middlesbrough for many fantastic reasons. We still have Anthony Durkins war medals and a wealth of information about the family. Patrick Durkin my grandfather's brother was an actor that had many accomplishments. His wife (my grandmother) Miriam, is still alive and well.
 I could not believe my eyes when I noticed that he had replied to you on this forum! (He was not computer literate Haha) anyway, we still reside in middlesbrough and although the wounds of his loss are still fresh I am more than prepared to take this further if you still wish to, and maybe we can help you fill in any gaps! e
