Thanks everyone!  I hope this might lead me one step closer to a living member of the family.

This family has been so incredibly easy to trace using Google & Family Search that I'm really surprised that you haven't already been able to trace the family yourself (according to a post on another forum you've been looking since at least 2014 and at that time there were several descendants still alive).

Thanks for your help.  I'm glad you were able to find the information with such ease, but it is a lot harder to actually find a contact for a living member of the family, which is what I am trying to do, as I am hoping that photos that were swapped are still in existence.

Donegal / Buncrana - McClure/Baldrick

Hi,

I am trying to get in contact with anyone who is the descendant of Elizabeth McClure (1847-1919) and George Baldrick (1838-1922).  Their children name's were George McClure Baldrick, Letitia Elizabeth Baldrick, Thomas Harwood Baldrick, William Baldrick and David Baldrick.  I am a descendant of Elizabeth's brother David McClure, who moved to Australia in 1863.

It is a long shot, but the families corresponded, and from the letters we have from Elizabeth, photos were also exchange, of which we have none for our family.

It would be great if we could share and gain more information about the day to day life of our families.  Please contact me if you can help :)

Hi,

I can't help you with any of the information I have, but I think I might link into this family somehow.  As far as I know my Great Grandfather was David McClure, b. 1840 in Donegal.  He moved to Australia in about 1863.  His parents were William McClure and Sarah McIlwaine I have no dates for them.  William McClure's father was David McClure and he married a Mary.

The reason why I think I might link in is David (b.1840) had a son, James Hamilton McClure.  I saw there was a link with the Hamilton's in your post.  Do you have any more information?

Thanks!

Emily
