Aaron Symmonds (c.1854-1901) was my paternal great grandfather. Aaron's youngest daughter, Daisy Symmonds Ball was my grandmother. After coming to the US, Aaron met and married Elizabeth Tucker who bore him 6 daughters and 2 sons. The Symmonds family settled in the small Bureau County, Illinois hamlet of DePue, where Aaron was indeed a coal miner. Aaron died in 1901 in a bizarre untimely incident involving accidental poisoning. Aaron Symmonds today lies at rest beside Elizabeth in Searle Ridge Cemetery in Bureau County, Illinois, USA.
