I have the birth certificate - Maud Annie Elizabeth was born on 22 July 1879 at 22 Queen Anne Road.  Name of father William Willis.  Mother - Juliana Augusta Willis formerly Hull.  Occupation of father Mercantile Clerk.  Informant Mother 22 Queen Anne Road.  Registered 2 September 1879.

Yes this is Juliana's family, Maud Willis, her first child died in 1881.  I did look into this family about 10 years ago so started to look at it again.  I now believe that this was not a William Watson Willis as he died in 1900.  As previously mentioned she might not have been married when she had her first child.  It might be that she used her mother's name Willis.

My great-grandmother Juliana Augusta Hull born 14 July 1849 had a child in 1879, stating on the birth certificate that the father was a William Willis. Later she married William John Cream in 1884 which states Juliana was a widow and was a Willis.  Basically I am trying to trace this William Willis.

Thank you for your swift replies  The information I have is written on my partner's adoption paper stating that the father was William Wright, address Coventry Road Birmingham, aged 42 and occupation stated as fitter.  Therefore as you have stated, DNA is the way to go.

I put this on the forum in 2021 on trying to trace my partner's biological father, but so far no success.    We believe him to be a William Wright born about 1912.  All we know he was living in Coventry Road Birmingham as a fitter in 1954 aged 42  and was supposedly single. I have searched tirelessly on Ancestry but wondered if any of you have any thoughts on this. As suggested I am not convinced that my partner having a DNA test would have the answer.  Any suggestions please.

I will start with a Thomas Winder Faithwaite born 1820 in Lancaster and a Gresham Faithwaite born 1845 in Leeds.  My only thought originally that they must be linked as this name is unusual.

I have been researching my Faithwaite family who originated from Lancashire since I retired and in that time I have been very successful.  However I am puzzled why I cannot link my Faithwaite family to the Yorkshire Faithwaites.
