I just found this thread as I am currently researching another branch of the same family. If Esdel or Clacher are still active on the forum, please reply.  ;D

If you are looking for relatives from Cullen, Banffshire there is a very active Facebook page called Cullen Past and Present. People often ask on there re relatives from the area. Wood and Findlay are local names but there is no church called St Mary's in Cullen.

No idea re the person from Glasgow. That side of my family were from Larkhall and my great grandfather had 23 kids(!) so I probably have a lot of distant relations.

And here is the piece of fabric I mentioned earlier in this thread.  I think he said it was called Sand, though I could be wrong.  How strange that my mum bought this in San Francisco, brought it back to Cullen then met the person who designed it and now we live in his former home! Small world.  ;D

Hi Dianne, would be nice to see some more of his work.  Say hello from Nancy Whitelaw (my mum). She knew your parents in Cullen in the 80s and we now own the Bayview, though we are in the process of turning it back into a house.  Here is a photo of the upstairs former restaurant, taken before the renovation started, which still had your dad's carpet in it nearly 30 years later.  We had hoped to save a bit of it to use as a runner in the hall or a rug but it was just too worn out.  Really groovy design though.

The gallery was also in Cullen. Is now an antiques shop.

There is a piece of the Blitz design for sale here:

I could see that pattern as really nice on an evening dress in a silk fabric. :)

Just spoke to my mum. Peter also ran a picture framing shop and small gallery for a few years before they went to Lanzarote. I'd forgotten about that but remember going in there now.

You're welcome! I saw the post was quite old so wasn't sure if you'd still be receiving notifications. It really is a small world. I saw your post whilst googling his name. We have just bought his old hotel and are renovating it to turn back into a house. The place was in a real time warp and one room still had a psychedelic carpet which must have been one of Peters as when we lifted it, it was clearly a specially designed piece. I really liked it and we tried to save some of it but it was too far gone and ended up in the skip.  Here is a photo...
